I bet most of you reading this post have watched “3 Idiots”, Aamir Khan’s latest release. All those who have watched it must have, by now, recognised my blog’s title – “Aal Izz Well”. This phrase is so much a part of the movie that there is even a song only to proclaim it. The literal translation of this is, well, “all is well”... meaning everything is as it is supposed to be. But isn’t there something in this phrase that makes you say it again and again?!
Easily, the catchiest aspect is the grammatical incorrectness (dunno if such a word exists, but wat d hell, English is a flexible language ;) ). It is really the crude manner in which Aamir a.k.a. Rancho says it, which makes sure that the viewer doesn’t forget it in a hurry. Even the story which Rancho tells to explain the origin of the phrase is engaging. The statement “It doesn’t solve the problem, but gives you heart to face it” really makes you feel good. The song “Aal Izz Well” does full justice to the meaning of the phraseJ. The lyrics are meaningful and make you wonder about all the worries which we carry around in our head, are they really worth it? The music has been scored wonderfully and the picturisation is pretty awesome.
Well, let me get to why I chose this as the title. You may all think I have just gone along with the public mood of the moment, and used this phrase to try and get as many people to view this page as possible. Well, you are partially right;).. after all, who doesn’t want people to read and appreciate what they’ve written?;) But the main reason is that the phrase has really captured my imagination. The peace of mind you attain when you know that everything you care about is well, is beyond imaginationJ.It is amazing how such a small phrase plays such a huge part in comforting you and laying your worries to rest.
So, I just named my blog “Aal Izz Well” so that among people who read my posts, at least one of you draw some comfort from what I write. Enjoy reading my articles people! Cheers:D!
